Ted Long Setzer

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his son, Eric Long Setzer and twin brother, Ned Setzer.

Ted was a lifelong resident of Conover. Ted served his country in the US Navy during the Atomic Era. He retired from Western Southern Life Insurance where he worked as a district manager. Ted was a lifelong member, deacon and elder of Trinity Reformed UCC where he enjoyed various church activities such as choir; assisting with the BBQ pit; and volunteer grounds maintenance.

Those left to cherish Ted’s memory are his wife of 27 years, Rebecca Hollar Setzer; sons David Setzer (Gina), Kelly Setzer, Eric Misenheimer; daughter, Beth Sims (Jody); sister, Joann Harper (Charles); grandchildren, Austin Setzer, Megan Jorgesnen (CJ), Ethan Sims, Bailey Sims, Nate Misenheimer, Cori Setzer; great grandchildren, Hunter Jorgenson, Owen Jorgenson, and Brynlee Granham.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Trinity Reformed UCC, 217 2nd Ave NE, Conover, NC 28613.

A funeral service for Ted will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Trinity Reformed UCC with Reverend Peggy Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery.
