Robert "Bob" Charles McCracken

The name of the deceased is Robert “Bob” Charles McCracken. He was 80 years of age at the time of death. He resided at 4572 Grassy Creek Road, Denver, North Carolina, 28037 at the time of his death. Robert Charles McCracken passed away on April 13th, 2017, at his home with his second wife, Shirley McCracken (Williams), and his eldest son, Charles Michael McCracken, by his bedside.

Robert Charles McCracken was born on July 4th, 1936, in Dighton, Massachusetts. His father was the Late George Ellsworth McCracken, and his Mother was Ruth Anne McCracken (Wilcox), who had nine children. His siblings were: George McCracken Jr, Harold McCracken, Bruce McCracken, Charles “Billy” McCracken, Patricia McCracken, Shirley Oliveira, Ruth Patterson, and Norene Stuart. Robert Charles McCracken has had two spouses throughout the course of his life: Alberta McCracken (Vasconcellos), who passed away on November 19th, 1997, and Shirley McCracken (Williams), who still survives.

Robert attended Dighton High School, and went on to acquire an Associate's degree in business. Robert served in the United States Air Force, from November 2nd, 1955, to November 1st, 1961. Robert was a self-employed upholsterer, taught under the apprenticeship of a man by the name of Sam in Miles City, Montana. He later moved his business back to his home-town of Dighton, Massachusetts. After his retirement, Robert decided to move to a house in Newton, North Carolina, circa 2010. Robert then decided to move to a smaller dwelling in Denver, North Carolina, circa 2016, where he resided until his death. Robert’s hobbies included: gardening, beekeeping, and farming.

Robert Charles McCracken was survived by his: second wife, Shirley McCracken (Williams); three sisters, Shirley Oliveira (McCracken), Ruth Patterson (McCracken), and Norene Stuart (McCracken) ; also survived by his children with late wife Alberta McCracken, four sons, Charles McCracken, David McCracken, Jeffrey McCracken, and James McCracken; four daughters, Roberta Blair (McCracken), Regina “Jeanne” Sousa (McCracken), Sharon Rocha (McCracken), and Amy Pires (McCracken); grandchildren, Allen Charles McCracken, Ryan Macomber, Noel Sousa, Seth Sousa, Casey Lee Rocha, Chelsea Bass, Samantha McCracken, Taylor McCracken, and others; stepson, Raul Pereira Jr., many nieces and nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Robert Charles McCracken was preceded by his four brothers, George McCracken Jr, Charles McCracken, Harold McCracken, and Bruce McCracken; and one sister, Patricia McCracken.

Robert Charles McCracken is in the care of Drum’s Funeral Home in Conover, North Carolina.

Robert will not have any memorial services for his passing. He will, however, have a blessing of his urn by Pastor Jeffrey Marquardt. We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
