Born November 16 1929, in Dade County Florida, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. Daugherty and Ella Moretz Daugherty of Conover.
Janice won the Long Leaf Pine Award, which was awarded to her by Governor Jim Hunt. She volunteered at Christian Ministries (ECCCM) and Meals on Wheels of Catawba County. She would also visit various retirement homes to visit with residents.
Janice was a sports fan; she rooted for the Tar Heels and Panthers. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR. She loved gardening and cooking; fruit pizza was one of her specialties. Other hobbies included traveling to the beach and the mountains.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Arlie R. Triplett; son, Paul Triplett; brother, Darrell Daugherty; sisters, Evelyn Ragan, Vera Fox.
Janice is survived by her son, Arlie Blaine Triplett of Conover; daughter, Arlene Coley and husband Steve of Morganton; brother, Vernon Daugherty of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Sherrie Groves, Robbie Triplett, Wesley Triplett, Christie Waters, Brianna Triplett; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, in the chapel at Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Pastor Byron E. Repass officiating. Burial will take place after the funeral service at Conover City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Village, 1265 21st St NE, Hickory, NC 28601 or to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658.
