Michael Leroy Bowman

Michael Leroy Bowman, age 63, left his earthly home for his heavenly home and joined his first pride and joy, his six year old daughter, Brandy Elizabeth Bowman and his life-long best friend, the late Jerry (JB) Bumgarner, on Thursday, March 01, 2018 at Catawba Hospice House in Newton, NC.

Born Saturday, January 8, 1955, he was the son of Pauline Poovey Bowman and the late Melvin Leroy Bowman.

In addition to his father and daughter, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of ten years, Debra Miller Bowman; daughters, Megan Elise Bowman, Erica Jean Bowman; sister, Tina Denise Bowman; grandchildren, Jayden Bowman, Anthony Bowman and Abigail Galligher and mother-in-law, Betty S. Poovey.

He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 5, 2018 with Dr. Ed Yount officiating. Burial will follow in the mausoleum at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home prior to the service. The family will also enjoy your visits Saturday afternoon at the home of Michael and Debra.
