Maxine was born in Catawba County on November 8, 1931 to the late Grady Hines and Ruth Mable Sigmon Hines.
Maxine was a member of Cornerstone Church in Maiden. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, baking, knitting, and flower gardening. Maxine was a cat lover.
In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Cook, Sr.; 2 deceased brothers and 1 deceased sister.
Those left to cherish she memories are her sons, Floyd Cook, Jr. and wife, Terri of Maiden and Rocky Allen Cook of Maiden; daughters, Barbara Clements and husband Graham, of Raleigh, and Brenda Cook of Denver; brother, Bobby Hines of Danville, VA; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Drum Funeral Home in Conover on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Byron Alexander. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at Drum Funeral Home. Burial will follow at May’s Chapel UMC Cemetery in Maiden, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
