Mary Caroline Love Spencer

Born December 11, 1934 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ernest and Lois Pauline Dellinger Love. Mrs. Spencer retired from Catawba County Schools as a secretary. She was a member of Catawba United Methodist Church and was a 50 plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Spencer, and a brother, Joe Love.

Survivors include daughters, Susan Hoyle and husband Terry of Catawba, and Amanda Whitehead of Catawba; son Phillip Spencer and wife, Judy of Catawba; sister, Martha Thompson of Gastonia; special friend of 31 years, Bud Pearson; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Catawba United Methodist Church. Pastor Rich Tuttle will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
