Born July 19, 1919 in Cheraw, SC, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Hettie Smith Lail. Mrs. Lail was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover. She had worked in the textile industry, was a former Hospice volunteer, and enjoyed working with and growing flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Guy Edward Sigmon; second husband, Clyde Wilford Lail; a son, Jimmy Edward Sigmon; brother, Julian Lail; sisters, Edith Lail Cline, Geraldine Lail Parrish, Glennie Lail Cline, and Minnie Lail Kilby.
Mrs. Lail is survived by a son, Larry Gene Sigmon of Conover; daughter, Jayne Sigmon Wilson of Conover; grandchildren, Karen Starnes and husband Jeff, Angie Sigmon, Dwayne Sigmon and wife Susan, James Sigmon, Cindy Hudson and husband Eddie, Rocky Sigmon, Julie Wilson Bates and husband Mark, Heather Wilson, Crystal Wilson, Jesse Sigmon, and Simon Sigmon; great grandchildren, Hannah Starnes, Haley Starnes, Jared Sigmon, Justin Sigmon, Matt Moses, Josh Moses, Joey Robertson, Abigail Bates, Avery Bates, Asher Bates and Jimmy Sigmon and Alicia Moore; great great grandchildren: Kiersta Moses and Nevaeh Moses.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover. Rev. Dr. Ed Yount will officiate and burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
Pallbearers serving the family are Dwayne Sigmon, Jimmy Sigmon, Rocky Sigmon, Jeff Starnes, Jared Sigmon and Bill Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
