Mary Elizabeth Stewart Abernathy, age 93, of Catawba, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. Mary was born in Catawba County, NC on October 12, 1930 to the late Russell Harlan Stewart and Gladys Annabelle Miller Stewart.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Virgil Marion Abernathy; brothers, Harold Stewart, Tate Stewart, Craig Stewart, and Clayton Stewart.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Evelyn Fulbright and husband Donald; son, Von Abernathy; brothers, Bud Stewart and Ralph Stewart; sister, Sally Christopher; grandchildren, Darrell and Jonathan Fulbright and Courtney Smith.
Receiving of friends will be held Monday, March 18, 2024 at 11 am prior to the service.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm Monday, March 18, 2024 at Drum Conover Chapel with Pastor John Savage officiating. Burial will follow at Hudson Chapel Church Cemetery.
