Larry was born on July 6, 1940 in Catawba County to the late Guy Edward Sigmon and Mary Lou Lail Sigmon. He was a member of Oxford Baptist Church in Conover. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Sunbelt Furniture Express as an independent transporter operator. He was a handyman who cared for his neighbors and anyone in need. Larry enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Sigmon.
Larry is survived by a son, Dwayne Sigmon and wife, Susan of Conover; daughters, Angela Sigmon and Fiancé, Eric Isenhower of Conover, Karen Starnes and husband, Jeff of Conover; sister, Jayne Wilson of Conover; grandchildren, Hannah Starnes, Haley Starnes, Jared Sigmon, Justin Sigmon; Special friend, Marlene Coffey of Conover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church in Conover with Rev. Joel Frye officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:45 at the church. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Conover City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Sigmon, James “Speedy” Sigmon, Marshall Griffin, Jared Sigmon, Hunter Winkler, and Mack Isenhower.
