Kathleen Mae Yount

She was born in Catawba County the daughter of William Vance Yount and Icey Belle Pope Yount.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Yount Moose and Camila Y. Yount and her brother Darvin Vance Yount and nephew Michael Huitt Moose.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Nadine and Carl H. Seitz and sister-in-law Lorraine S. Yount and brother-in-law Hugh D. Yount. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Keever, Kathy Moose, Theresa Reid, (Larry), Marcus Seitz, (Ruth), Joyce Isenhour, (J.R.), Timothy Yount, (Carla), Kevin Yount, (Sandra), Nelson Yount, (Cynthia), Conrad Yount, (Evelynn), and Myron Yount (Tammy).

Also, surviving are fourteen great nephews and eight great nieces, and three great -great nieces and two great-great nephews.

She was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School in 1947 and Lenior Rhyne College with a degree in Biology in 1952. In 1953 she graduated from Medical Technology School at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and began a 42-year career as a laboratory medical technologist. She was the program director of the School of Medical Technology at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. She retired in 1995. She resided in Charlotte and later relocated back to Conover.

We are blessed that she lived a full and happy life enjoying her family and friends, her many travels, spending time at Camp Linn Haven, and adventures. She enjoyed all of God’s creation in nature and taught all her nieces and nephews to appreciate the beauty of the world.

She was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover where a Celebration of her Life will be held, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.

Burial will follow at the Conover Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 in the narthex.
