Born October 9, 1930 in Rocky Mount, NC she was the daughter of the late Carroll Herman and Rosa Crickmore Herman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Norris Sigmon.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Cynthia Wright and husband, Michael, Pam Sigmon, Denise Sigmon; son, Eric Sigmon and wife, Mabel; sister, Leona Hoyle.
Katherine was a loving mother who enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing for her family. She took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens that everyone admired as they drove by.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont, NC, with the Rev. Eric Hollar and Rev. Dr. Mike Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethel Lutheran Church, 5759 Bolick Road, Claremont, NC 28610.
