Born September 2, 1932, he was the son of the late Edison Franklin Sigmon and Flossie Edith Fox Sigmon. He retired from Sherrill Furniture after 45 years of service and was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Conover. John was a veteran of the United States Army and a lifelong member of Woodmen of the World. His first priority was his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Jeanette Sigmon; brothers, Floyd Sigmon, Tommy Sigmon; sisters, Thelma Sigmon, Pauline Bowman and Alma Reames.
Left to cherish his memory is daughters, Susan Ryder and husband, David, Sharon Davis and husband, Eddie; brothers, Perry Sigmon, Richard Sigmon, James Sigmon, Danny Sigmon, Glenn Sigmon; sisters, Lorene Huffman, Charlotte Johnson; grandchildren, Earl Cazire, Bryan Davis, Cody Myers and wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Cazire, Sarah Higgs, Noah Davis, Dakota Myers, Mason Myers; special niece and nephew, Keith and Lynn Norton; numerous other nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Peters Lutheran Church with Rev. Kevin Graudin and Lay Minister Eric Hauss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
