Geraldine "Jeri" Wadlington, age 82 of Conover, North Carolina made her way to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home accompanied by her loving grandson and caretaker Joe Wadlington and her granddaughter Nicole Wadlington Lowman.
Jeri was born on December 23, 1941 to late Charles Jack McGhee a WWII veteran and Virginia Fulton McGhee in Elizabethton, TN. Jeri graduated from Lake Worth High School in Florida where she was prom queen her senior year.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her only child Richard H. Wadlington Jr. and her younger sister Deborah Brown.
Jeri was the Pillar of her family with a strong foundation of unconditional love. Her life was a collection of chapters that told a story of dedication, love and kindness and her generosity knew no boundaries. She had a passion for gardening, cooking and Pool, where she was the Captain of her most recent team. She loved to travel and enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas for competitions, as she was a competitor. To say that she was compassionate would be an understatement. She was selfless and has always cared or been the caregiver of her family. May she rest in peace in the presence of the Lord.
Left to cherish her memory are grandchildren Richard J. Wadlington, Nicole Wadlington Lowman; great grandchildren, Matthew Joseph Wadlington, Cameron Armstrong, Chase Armstrong, Sarah Gibson, Seth Gibson; nieces, Shelli McGhee Hart, April Ladowski; Nephew, Steven Brown; great Nephew, Jonathan DiPasquale; great niece Sarah Stryker; and great-great-nephews, Daniel DiPasquale, Oliver Stryker and Lucas Stryker.
A Celebration of Life for Jeri will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, 2024 at Randolph Billiards, 16 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
