Ellen Fox Wilson

Ellen Fox Wilson, age 67, of Claremont, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Born July 24, 1950, in Forsyth County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Wade Hubert Fox and Vera Mae Moretz Fox.

Ellen was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Conover, NC, where she had been a member of the choir, handbell choir, and church council. She retired after 30 years from Catawba County Schools, where she had taught at Balls Creek Elementary School and Claremont Elementary School. Ellen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Family left to cherish her memory include her husband of 46 years, John Calvin Wilson; sons, Brian C. Wilson of Claremont, NC, Sean Wilson and wife Melissa, of Hudson, NC, and Scott Wilson and wife Jessica, of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Elizabeth “Liz” Mauser of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, BJ Frye of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, Cathy Fox of Conover, NC, Dena Caldwell of Ringgold, VA, and Lorena Gibson of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Connor Wilson, Carson Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, Chandler Wilson, Asher Wilson, and Cayden Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church in Conover, NC, with Rev. Mary Miller-Zurell and Rev. Duane Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 PM on Friday.
