Edna Rebecca (Sanders) Sheffield

Edna Rebecca Sheffield, 90 of Valdese, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Elzie Van and Lula Florence Brewer Sanders. She retired from Mom & Pops Ham House and also worked as a sander in furniture manufacturing. She was an avid reader of the Bible and would read it to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved going to yard sales.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Sheffield; two daughters, Wanda Gwynn and Kathy Hughes; daughter in law, Wanda Sheffield; two sisters, Elsie Williams and Dorothy Allen; four brothers, D.R., Clarence, Bobby and Jerry Sanders; and two grandsons, Robert Hughes, and Roy Sherman Gwynn. She is survived by her son, David Lee Sheffield Sr. of Valdese; grandson Jason Sheffield and thirteen other grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home, Conover, with the Rev. Robert Ash officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 prior to the service. Burial will be at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Catawba following the service.
