Davis Locke Laney

Infant Davis Locke Laney, age 6 ½ weeks, passed away, peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Born November 1, 2018, in Catawba County, NC, he is the son of Taylor Hunsucker Laney and Katherine Layne Laney of Conover, NC.

Davis was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Tim R. Laney.

Survivors include his parents, Taylor and Katherine Laney; twin brother, Brooks Harvey Laney; maternal grandparents, Al and Alice Layne of Conover, NC; paternal grandmother, Barbie H. Laney of Conover, NC; uncles and aunts, Patrick and Becky Laney of Catawba, NC, Stephen Layne and fianceé Martha McNeely of Kenmore, WA, and Cameron and Brian Bixby of Claremont, NC; and cousins, Peyton Laney and Finley Bixby.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Catawba, NC, with Rev. Greg Alms and Lay Minister Eric Hauss officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. A private graveside service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, NC.

Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Laney and Stephen Layne.

The Laney family would like to thank the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, and the entire staff at CVMC (NICU) and Presbyterian Hospital (NICU) for their loving care of Davis, Brooks, and the entire family during this time.
