Big Guy always said life was like a huge grocery store, where you walk up and down all the aisles, getting what you need and want in this life and then one day, you just check out.
Big Guy checked out in the early morning of May 4, 2024 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was a beloved Dad, Grandpa(Big Guy), Great Grandpa and friend to so many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on Sunday, May 24, 1936 to the late Charles and Ester Reilly.
Upon enlisting in the Army, he was stationed in the Canal Zone, Republic of Panama, where he met and married his late wife. Velma Medina Reilly.
Upon discharge from the Army, he worked as Chief Financial Officer, Resource Management, U.S. Army South, the Army component of the United States Southern Command.
His proudest and most cherished accomplishment was his family. There was nothing more important than family to Big Guy.
He loved traveling, playing golf, going to the beach, going for walks (later drives), sitting in the sun and just sitting and talking with his daughters, sons-in-law, grandkids and friends. He loved attending mass and bible study at St. Aloysius. Big Guy enjoyed yelling at the TV, especially when it was political and giving advice, even when his kids didn't want to hear it. When he heard something surprising or impressive, he would respond with "Well, I'll be doggone!!
Big Guy is survived by his four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Scott, Debbie and Steve Motsinger, Keith Yoder, JoAnn Reilly and Linda Walker, as well as his ten grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Scott, Stacy, Abby, Aaron and his wife Gabby Motsinger, Laurin and Ashley Yoder, Kaleb Kemp and Braden and Jackson Walker.
