He was born on March 17, 1940 in Summit County, Ohio to the late Harry Martin Amon and Ida Belle Weaver Amon. Al was the owner of Al’s Garage and A&M Trucking. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a son, Albert John Amon, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Amon; sons, Ken Amon and wife, Cathy, Ed Amon, and Rick Amon; sister, Ida Belle Noel; grandchildren, Teresa Webb and husband, Paul, John Amon, Laura Khang and husband, Dennis, Edward Allen Amon, Jr., Jessie Cartrette; and six great-grandchildren.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Rev. Bill Foust officiating. Burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery in Catawba.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
