Teresa F. Griffey

Teresa F. Griffey’s many years of health struggles came to an end on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Reid Health in Richmond surrounded by her loving family. Teresa was born on November 9, 1963 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Phyllis Newman Mercer. She attended and graduated from Hagerstown High School. Teresa married the love of her life, Daniel Griffey, in 2001 in Townsend, Tennessee. Dan had three boys, and Teresa adopted them as her very own from the beginning. She enjoyed living, loving, and working alongside her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Teresa was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and business partner. She was an incredibly selfless woman who put everyone’s needs before her own. Teresa’s joy, smile, and positive outlook will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her loving husband of twenty-two years: Dan; Teresa is survived by her step-sons: Mark Griffey, Michael (Cara) Griffey, Thomas (Amanda) Griffey; grandchildren: Liliana, Emma, Noah, Joseph, Eli, Lilah, and Joshua; father: Robert Mercer; sisters: Denise (Terry) Fox, Wanda (Arthur) Cox-Fairley, Vonnie (Jeff) Swim; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Mercer; granddaughter: Claire Griffey; father and mother-in-law: Lawrence and Lillie Griffey; and niece: Linsey Susalla. Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Jacksonburg Christian Church, 1640 N Jacksonburg Rd, Cambridge City, IN 47327 with pastors Jamie Fagan and Ellis McQueen officiating.
