Obituary of Sherry G Courtney
Sherry G. Courtney, 55 of Connersville, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, after suffering a fall at home. Sherry was born January 28, 1960 in Connersville to Fred and Hilda Marie Dunkelbarger Talbott and was a 1978 graduate of Connersville High School. She worked most of her life as a childcare provider, beginning at Pleasant Beginnings Childcare and later as owner and operator of Reliable Day Care. In addition to her ‘childcare children,’ Sherry enjoyed music, shopping, bowling, riding her bike and her pets. Sherry is survived by her husband, David Lynn Courtney, whom she married July 2, 1988 in Connersville; her sister: Vickie Frasher and her husband, James of Fayette County; her brother: Dan Talbott of Connersville; her step-children: Alice Marrs and her husband, Brett of Piqua, Ohio; Tom Courtney of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; Alex Courtney and Jennifer Courtney, both of Troy, Ohio; 11 step-grandchildren; 2 half-sisters: Millie Borgman and her husband, Paul of Greenfield; Bev Sherwood of Connersville; nieces, nephews, a large extended family and many friends. In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her twin sister, Jerry who was stillborn, and a half-sister: Pat Sanders. The family would like to extend a thank you to the Fayette County EMS, Connersville Fire Department, Fayette Regional Health System, AirFlight and the Methodist Hospital Healthcare teams. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery.
