On July 2, 1932 Lloyd was born to Auburn Kenneth and Ruby Oldham Morris in Rush County. Lloyd served in the United States Coast Guard from 1950 until 1956, and on September 13, 1953 married the former Shirley Welch at Central Christian Church in Connersville. He returned to Indiana to farm and was a seed salesman for many years, working for Callahan and DeKalb. Lloyd was a dedicated to his family and the New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a member. He supported 4-H and helped build the barns for the Buckaroos Horse and Pony Club.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters: Debbi E. Lathrop and her husband Richard of Eaton, Ohio; Jane Pigman, Beckie Banks, Anjee Scrogham, all of Connersville; 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Jon and Deanna Godar, Tommy and Tawyna Godar, Missi and Jimmy Pea, Robert Pigman, Ronald Pigman, Wesley Banks, Colter Banks, Phillip Scrogham, all of Connersville; Andrew and Megan Godar, Anna and John Hesselbarth, of Greenwood, Joseph and Jennifer Godar; of Indianapolis; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings: Paul Morris, Dale Morris, Edna Campbell; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lloyd in death are his parents; daughter: Patsie Morris; two brothers: Richard Lee Morris and Norman Morris.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Service, Myers Chapel in Connersville with Pastors Glen Funk, John Krumm, and Mike Chastine of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery Garden of Memories. Friends may visit on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to Fayette County Senior Center or to the New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
