Larry Abbott

Larry Abbott, 66, of Connersville died at his home, December 21, 2017.

Born November 14, 1951 in Richmond, Indiana to Thomas H. and Vernon Brady Abbott, Larry attended area schools including Connersville High School. On April 21, 1973, he married the love of his life, the former Debbie Jones, in Marion, Indiana. Larry was a hard worker who lived to lead those around him, ensuring the job was always done right. He was very talented, from building his family their dream home to restoring wrecked vehicles and banging the gears on his race cars. In his eyes, if it wasn’t a Dodge, it wasn’t worth having. He most recently had his eyes on the Hellcat Charger. For the last fifteen years, he spent the majority of his time employed with his second family at Fayette Tool and Die. Larry also managed snow removal for several local businesses and helped his wife with her lawn care business for the last thirty years. He was previously employed at Design and Manufacturing for twenty-one years, building homes with Wilmore Development for eighteen years and started his career with Molar Construction in Cambridge City. In his spare time, he helped maintain his rental properties. Larry was a devoted husband, father and animal lover. He was always sure to save table food for his beloved pets, Maggie and Harlee. Larry attended Western Avenue Baptist Church.

Larry is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Debbie Abbott; his only child and whole world: Buffy Browning and her husband, Chris, all of Connersville; his siblings and their spouses: Kathy Colburn and Art of Aberdeen, North Carolina; Duane Abbott and Becky of Connersville; his father and mother-in-law: James and Carolyn Jones; his brother-in-law and his spouse: Daniel Jones and Kellie , all of New Paris, Ohio; his sisters-in-law and their spouses: Kathy Rigor and Ron; Robin Houghland and Greg, all of Connersville; Becky Mitten and Doug of Brown City, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Mona Fish.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery.
