A Fayette County native, Alice was born June 25, 1942 to Raymond and Leota Quante Stephens. She attended Connersville area schools and worked at Visteon and its predecessors until her retirement. Alice enjoyed being a caregiver and helping others. She loved animals, especially birds. In her leisure time, Alice collected cow ornaments.
Alice is survived by her children: Marlin R. Shafer of Connersville; Michael R. Parrett and his fiancé, Teresa Durham of Lexington, Kentucky; Monica Shafer of Batesville; Veronica Pollitt and her husband, Art of Connersville; her brother: Gary Stephens and his wife, Zanetta of Connersville; sisters: Zelta Stout and her husband, Don of Tampa, Florida; Sharon Brant of Shelbyville; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews ; several step-children, including: Randy Parrett and his wife, Kathy of Morning Sun, Ohio; Ronnie Parrett of Connersville; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. “Pa” Parrett; her grandson: Raymond “Dell” Richardson; her brother-in-law: Earl Brant; her very special friend: Ethel Tressler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 p.m. Friday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary.
