Joseph Francis Sansone, of New City, New York, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Brooklyn on June 26, 1953, Joseph spent his early years in Staten Island before settling in New City, where he built a loving home and life. Joseph was the devoted husband of Carmela Sansone, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Emily and Sarah Sansone, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also welcomed their future spouses, Ash Mokhtar and Jonathan Caciola, into the family with warmth and open arms.
Joseph is survived by his loving brothers, Douglas Sansone and his wife Kelly Sansone, and Felix Sansone and his wife Amy Finch. He is also survived by his beloved sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gina and Patrick O'Hara, as well as his cherished nieces, Isabella and Grace O'Hara. Joseph deeply valued family and took great pride in the strong bonds he maintained with each of them.
Joseph also had a deep affection for animals, especially his beloved dogs, Roxy and Molly. Their constant companionship brought him immense joy, and they were cherished members of the family.
A proud graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Joseph dedicated his professional life to education. He ended his esteemed career as a professor at Ramapo College and Dominican College, where he inspired countless students with his wisdom, humor, and passion for learning.
In addition to his career in academia, Joseph was a committed public servant and a Life Member of the New City Volunteer Ambulance Corps. His years of service reflect his deep dedication to helping others and giving back to the community he loved.
Joseph was an adventurer at heart. He loved traveling, especially enjoying getaways to Long Beach Island and memorable cruises with family and friends. His warmth, intelligence, and quick wit touched the lives of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
