Winfield “Win” Robin, 85, formerly of Bow, NH and Concord, NH, died on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, MA. He was raised in West Newbury, MA by his departed aunt and uncle after his parent’s early deaths when he was a toddler.
He was a graduate of Pentucket High School. Win served and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy during both World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Public Service of New Hampshire for 35 years, retiring as maintenance supervisor.
The Robins lived in Bow for 38 years. He was active in several boards and committees in the town during that time. They then moved to Beaver Meadow Village where they lived for 14 years where Win served on the Board of Directors. The Robins, their daughter and son in law shared a summer residence at Great East Lake in Wakefield, NH. At the lake Win volunteered in the Lake Host Program that promotes water quality measures and lake stewardship.
He leaves his beloved wife of 63 years, Muriel Robin, daughter Bess and her husband Douglas Smith of North Andover, MA.
Win also leaves his grandson Douglas, his wife Jen and their daughters Elizabeth and Sara. He is also survived by his granddaughter Cindy, her partner Ernie and a great grandchild on the way. He will be sincerely missed by several nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial services will be private.
In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice and will be greatly appreciated.
