Thomas, “Tom, Tommy” Gualtieri, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, with his family by his side. He will be forever loved and cherished by his wife of 54 years, Nancy (Brown) Gualtieri, his son Kurt Gualtieri and daughter-in-law Susan, and his two grandchildren, Anthony and Gianna of Concord, NH. His loving daughter Wendi, preceded him in death, which was extremely difficult, for he missed her, dearly.
He is also survived by his brother Charles Gualtieri and his wife Nancy (O'Brien) Gualtieri of Burlington, MA, nieces, nephews, cousins and, dear friends who will greatly miss him. Tom was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Gualtieri of Somerville, MA.
Born in Somerville, MA on February 19, 1946, he was the son of Joseph and Yolanda "Florence" Gualtieri. Tom proudly served his country by entering the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Tom was stationed in Texas for two years and in Alaska for two years. After returning home, he married his wife, Nancy, on October 25, 1968. They moved to Derry, New Hampshire where they raised their two children, Wendi and Kurt.
Tom enjoyed spending time being a dad to his children, “Papa” to his grandchildren, traveling with his family, gardening and following sports; especially the Patriots. Tom and Nancy built a cottage in Madison, NH, where he loved to fish, kayak, go for walks on the quiet dirt roads and take drives through the White Mountains. Tom loved his horse Cherokee, who was boarded several years at Chebacco Ranch Bed & Breakfast Dude Ranch. Riding trails, through hundreds of acres of nearby woods, would become memories Nancy and he continually recalled. His happiest times were spent with family at holiday gatherings, fishing with his dear friend, Mike, spending time at the ocean, especially walking the beaches of Kittery, ME, Hampton, NH and Salisbury, MA with Nancy.
Tom loved to work and be helpful to others. After retiring from Accurate Speedometer where he worked and managed for 40 years, he drove a school bus for First Student out of Plaistow NH. After moving to Concord, NH, he drove school bus #13 for the City of Concord, NH. He loved his fellow drivers and all his children on "the bus!”
Tom leaves us rich in wonderful memories, but his smile will be greatly missed by all!
Love you, always and forever until the end of time…
