Married to Nancy (Mulholland) Olson for 68 years. They lived in Waltham Ma for 40 years where they raised their 5 children Ronald D Olson Jr., Linda DiCecca and her husband Robert, Maribeth Riccio and her husband Charles, Joseph Olson and Alice Cox. While living in Waltham, they were fortunate as a family to also spend their summers at Northwood lake for 59 years where Dave and Nancy retired in 2000.
He enjoyed and loved his 10 grandchildren Michael, Melissa, Matthew, Gregory, Douglas, Lee, Chelsea, Evan, Justin and Bradley. Also his 5 great-grandchildren Brayden, Liam, Emrys, Blake, and Caroline.
Dave had many passions but his favorites were competitive roller skating, lake life, boating, waterskiing, teaching family and friends to water ski, swimming, snowmobiling, playing horse shoes with friends, hunting and watching NASCAR.
Dave was a Navy Veteran, a member of The Masonic Lodge, a past Exalted Ruler at The Lexington Elks: lodge #2204, as well as a member of The American Legion in Concord, NH and a member of S.M.E. Engineers.
After Dave served in the Navy he worked as a Tool & Die Maker at Prospect Tool & Die in Woburn, Mass; he also worked weekends at Southbridge Boat House selling boats in Concord, Mass. Later in his work life he worked at “Kern EDM Wire” in Conn. as well as Merchants Auto in Hookset, NH.
He is predeceased by his parents Alice and Omer Olson and son-in-law Kenneth Cox.
Calling Hours will be on January 3, 2023 from 11:30am-1:00pm with a Memorial Service to follow at Bennett Funeral Home 209 North Main Street Concord, NH. A burial will follow at 2:00pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen, NH.
