Dick was born on January 25th, 1950 in Concord NH. He had a happy childhood, growing up in a loving household in Boscawen. He joined the Air Force in November 1969 and served his country proudly until he was honorably discharged in 1972. He graduated from Franklin Pierce College with a degree in Economics. Dick went on to have an illustrious career in banking, working to supply small business loans throughout NH.
Dick was an avid golfer and was on the board of Beaver Meadow Golf Club. He was a major BMW enthusiast. He attended many BMW Oktoberfest events with his beloved wife, Dorina. Their 1982 BMW 320 won many awards. He was the president of the Boston and NH BMW chapter. He was also an active member of the rotary club in Concord. Dick was a volunteer and board member at the VNA for many years. Dick followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps to be a Mason member of the Horace Chase Lodge.
Dick had a keen eye for detail which allowed him to design his dream home in Oak Point New Brunswick, CA. He and Dorina spent most summers enjoying their peaceful Oceanfront home going on daily walks and reading. Dick had a kind and generous heart and was always willing and eager to help anyone in need.
Dick and Dorina loved to travel and had a fabulous time exploring Europe.
Dick leaves behind his wife Dorina (Breault), Sisters Nancy Mahar of New London, NH and Joanne Mahlowitz, Eric of Georgetown, CO. He leaves behind his sister-in-law Christianne Jones, niece and nephew, Jessica and Joseph Jones of Coventry, RI and Rochester, NH and his nephews Stephen and Kathleen Mahar of Needham, MA and Michael Jason and Barbara Mahar of New London, NH. Dick also leaves behind his Canadian brother-in-law Raoul and Noella Breault as well as sisters-in-law Giselle Brault, Jeroma Breault, and Nicole Marquis
Dick leaves behind many lifelong friends and neighbors. ‘The view’ members that will surely miss their morning coffee chats. He is pre-deceased by his mother, father, Brother Thomas, brother-in-law Ralph Mahar and brother-in-law Robert Jones.
The funeral will be held at Bennett Funeral home 209 N. Main St. Concord, NH 03301 on Friday August 9th, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. immediately following will be a committal service at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen, NH. 03303.
