He was born in Manchester, NH to parents, Alexis and Maria (Grenier) Lacasse on August 18, 1934. Raymond was predeceased by his parents and his 4 brothers and 7 sisters. His sister, Theresa Peron, survives him.
Members of his family include his wife of 47 years, Jane (Mulligan) Lacasse of Concord; his daughter, Laurie Lacasse Lucier and her partner, Scott Marshall and her children, Riley, Maija, and Teegan; his son, Gerry and his wife Jen and their children, Marion (pre-deceased) Aidan and Olivia; and his daughter Kate Lacasse and her children, Alexis Rose and Wade Spears Jr.
Ray lived an interesting life beginning with his decision to attend High School at La Salette in Enfield, NH after attending elementary school in Manchester. Completing his high school years he then formerly entered the La Salette Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 1960. He had the opportunity to work with parishes in Canada, teach French at the High School in Enfield and then joined the out-reach Mission Band program sponsored by his community which had him travelling throughout the United States offering mission work with local churches in their home parishes.
Eight years later, in 1968, Ray made a major change by receiving permission to leave his priestly work and he moved to Boston where began his work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield. He also went on a blind date and he married Jane Mulligan in 1969. Moving to Concord NH in 1970, he began work with NH State Office now called Elderly and Adult Services and spent the next 30 years working for Senior Citizens in New Hampshire.
He loved to read, cook, travel, write poetry, tell jokes, and gather with family and friends. His family always came first!
We will be celebrating his life with Calling Hours at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord from 4 to 8pm on Friday, August 25. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 1:00pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 21 Centre St. Concord.
