Patricia was born on December 1, 1940 in Missouri Valley, Iowa, to Harold Everet Hendricks and Phyllis Arlene (Smith) Hendricks. Her family lived in several small towns in Iowa before she graduated from Watertown High School in Watertown, South Dakota in 1959.
Patricia met D. Joseph Clement of Henniker while he played baseball for the Watertown Lake Sox during the summer of 1960, and on September 23, 1961 they married. Joe’s baseball career took them to many towns and cities around the country before they settled in Henniker in 1965. Patricia operated a childcare business at Pats Peak Ski Area between 1965 and 1978 and made key contributions to the family business, Henniker Pharmacy, alongside her husband and daughter. She also undertook numerous projects including a complete renovation of the apartments in the Odd Fellows block in Henniker and a loving restoration of her 18th century farmhouse. She raised six children and was an unofficial mother to countless more. She was known for the many large dinners she prepared for pharmacy employees and rotarians. She had a great love of music and was never far from her piano. She was a lifelong student of the Bible.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Beverley Ann (Hendricks) Skiles, and her son Jeffrey David Clement.
Patricia is survived by her husband and loving family: Daughter Catherine Ann (Clement) Dias and her husband R. Scott Dias of Henniker; son James Douglas Clement, his partner Jo Rasi and their children Joseph Antonio Riva-Clement, Loren Jeffrey Riva-Clement, Nicolo Xander Rasi-deMatties and Isabel Chave Hinzi Riva-Clement of Takoma Park, MD; son Joseph Patrick Clement and his partner Bradley Leo Borevitz of Oakland CA; foster daughter Susan Welles (Nelson) Browning and her husband Russell Mark Browning of Cave Creek, AZ; foster son Sture G. Nelson and his wife Susan Parkman Henry of Burlington, VT; brother Harold James Hendricks, his wife Ning Liao Hendricks of Climax, GA, and his daughter Kristen Smith Hendricks of Brooklyn, CT.
Services in her memory will be held at the Henniker Congregational Church on Saturday, December 4th at 3pm. There will be no calling hours or graveside service. The family requests only fully vaccinated individuals attend in person and others attend via a LiveStream option at churchofhenniker.org. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
