She was born in Wakefield, Massachusetts on June 1, 1925, the daughter of Thomas W. and Jessie (Campbell) Muse.
Norma was married to William L. Giles for 63 years before his death in September of 2014. She leaves their four children: Alan W. Giles of Penacook and his wife, Kay (Davant) Giles, Barry E. Giles of Concord and his girlfriend, Patricia Turner, Brian M. Giles of Concord and his wife, Maria (Norling) Giles and Cynthia A. (Giles) Clark of Bedford and her husband, Richard Clark; and her niece, Noreen McCauley of Dover, NH. She is also survived by her sister, Madeline Arvanitis of Andover, Massachusetts.
Norma was a devoted mother and a loving “Nana” to her grandchildren: Lynda and her husband, Kevin, Amy, Adric, Lauren, Cadence, Brandon and Alissa. She was also a great grandmother to Ashton and Addison. She enjoyed watching her “stories”, doing crossword puzzles, knitting and cooking for her family. Her happiest moments were when her whole family was together at her home enjoying dinner and conversations. She loved all the pets that were part of her family through the years, especially blue eyed white cats. Her present cat, Roxi, will miss her very much. Memorial donations to the SPCA would greatly honor Norma’s love of animals.
Norma worked for many years at New Hampshire Hospital as a switchboard operator until her retirement in 1986. Her presence in the Giles family will forever be felt and missed by all who loved her.
