She was born May 13, 1934 in Lynbrook, NY, daughter of Dorothy and George Graf. She attended Lynbrook High School and the College of New Rochelle in New York.
She lived in Hopkinton, NH as her primary residence with a second home in Naples, FL and a family cabin on Lake Umbagog in Maine. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. In earlier years she had also been been employed by Macy’s Department Store in the jewelry department, as well as worked as a substitute school teacher.
In her life, she had been an active parishioner in the many churches where she lived, and most recently St. Theresa’s in Henniker, NH and St. Leo’s in Naples, FL. She was a master of crossword puzzles and most especially a voracious reader, particularly of British mysteries and historical fiction. She was an avid birdwatcher, and loved all the Fine Arts, especially enjoyed attending art shows and museum exhibits, perusing antique shops, collecting fine porcelain figurines and watching favorite classic movies of her time. Most especially she loved spending time with her husband , her children and her grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She was also a most generous donor for children’s charities throughout her entire life, such as Save the Children and other family/children’s charitable foundations. Her compassion and generosity continue to inspire those who knew her, and the light of her presence shall never fade.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar J. Thibodeau of 60 years, four children and eight grandchildren including her oldest son Edgar “Jay” Thibodeau with his daughter Christel Thibodeau and son Brett Thibodeau of Belmar, NJ; daughter Louise A. Salatino, her husband Mike Salatino, and children Katie, Matthew and Cristina Salatino of Wilton, CT; Michael G. Thibodeau, his wife Barbara Thibodeau, and children Amy, Michael, and Henry Thibodeau of Pittsgrove, NJ; and Paul F. Thibodeau and his wife Ellen Thibodeau of Charlton, MA. There are eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Jeanne Engel of Cape Neddick, ME and Dorothy Giel of Sebastian, FL, with several cousins in the Boston, Connecticut, and Long Island areas.
Visiting hours will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8
at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9
at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Theresa Catholic Church, 158 Old West Hopkinton Road, P.O. Box 729, Henniker, NH 03242.
Interment will take place on Monday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m.
Saint Anne’s Cemetery, of the Good Shepard Parish, East Milan Road, Berlin.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to Save the Children and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Henniker, NH.
