Mary Ann Lewis (Juliano) of Contoocook New Hampshire, age 97 passed away on Sunday surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann was reared in Chicago Illinois. She worked for the US Navy in Pearl Harbor, Oahu during WWII and moved to New Hampshire in 1946 after she wed her late husband Allen Lewis. A loving mother, Mary Ann raised four boys and was active in a number of charities, most notably the March of Dimes. She was a 6 term New Hampshire legislator where she served as Vice Chair of the Natural Resources Committee and championed conversation and woman’s issues. She was an active member of the Order of Woman Legislators and enjoyed working on local and national issues. She was an active member of the Contoocook United Methodist Church and served as the Chair of the Trustees, as well as many other committees for many years. An avid toleware painter, many of Mary Ann’s pieces is enjoyed by her friends and neighbors. She is survived by her four sons, Robert (Cheyenne WY), Jerry (Lynchburg VA), Mark (Carlsbad CA) and David (Arlington MA); 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Contoocook Methodist Church on Saturday, May 10th at 11am. Friends and family are invited to a reception immediately following the service at the church.
