Mary S. Barrett

Mary was born in Galway, Ireland on July 6, 1921 a daughter of Thomas and Julia (Mitchell) McLaughlin. Mary came to the United States as a young woman with her family in 1949.

She worked as a housekeeper at Concord Hospital for over 25 years. She retired in 1983.

She was an avid reader who enjoyed dancing, traveling and was a big Red Sox fan, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Michael Barrett in 1999, a son, Reverend Michael Stephen Barrett in 2000 and a brother, Thomas McLaughlin in 2009.

She is survived by a son, Thomas J. Barrett and his wife, Maureen of Concord; a daughter, Mary B. Russell of Phoenix, AZ, 6 grandchildren, Brian, Gary, Patrick, Karen, Craig and Brendon; 4 great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Jordyn, John and Jake and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 24 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord. Interment will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Concord Regional VNA, The Slusser Center, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.
