Kelly Thompson, loving wife, daughter, sister, auntie, and dear friend passed away on February 13, 2023 at the age of 37 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was surrounded by family at her home in Concord, New Hampshire.
Her generous spirit brought a light and warmth to the world that will be missed but never forgotten. Those in her orbit will remember her resilient attitude and completely unselfish nature.
Kelly was born to David and Roberta Thompson and grew up in Concord, New Hampshire. She attended Concord High School and studied Interior Design at Syracuse University. After graduating from college, Kelly moved to Los Angeles and formed a close group of friends that became her ‘west coast family’. They celebrated an annual ‘Friendsgiving’, went to concerts and danced through the night, took ski trips, and explored California’s natural landscape, from beaches to mountains to deserts.
Kelly and her future husband, Kyle, found each other in Los Angeles thanks to their love of live music and the outdoors. In 2019, they moved to Seattle, where they would explore the Pacific Northwest and get married in 2021.
Kelly flourished professionally as an interior designer and project manager thanks to her natural eye for design, attention to detail, work ethic, and her uncanny ability to make anyone she worked with feel comfortable and assured.
The kindness and joy with which she approached every action in life, regardless of what she was going through, is a testament to her grace and loving spirit. She jumped at every chance to help friends and family - painting and setting up nurseries, decorating homes, refurbishing furniture, cooking dinner, and lending her hand no matter the task. Kelly was at her happiest playing with children of friends and family - crafting them outfits, handmade presents, and delicious desserts.
Kelly was a pure, old soul. She is deeply missed, along with her signature smirk, buoyant laugh, and overall love of life and people. Kelly was taken from this world too soon, but her warmth and light will continue to radiate through her family, friends, and everyone who was blessed to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Kyle Fitzgerald; her parents David and Roberta Thompson; her brother Cole and sister Amanda; her loyal pup, Frida; and dozens of extended family members and close friends.
In lieu of sending flowers please make donations to the National Brain Tumor Society in Kelly’s memory.
There will be a memorial service to honor her life on March 11, 2023 at 10:30am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Loudon Rd, Concord, NH 03301
