Kathleen Mae (Collins) Clough Weeks, 75, passed away February 18, 2023 at Granite VNA Hospice House, Concord, NH. She was born in Burlington, VT on January 25, 1948, the daughter of the late Arthur T. Collins and Ruby (Maxfield) Collins.
Kathleen (also referred to as Kay or Kathy) earned her high school diploma from Winooski High School (VT) on June 19, 1966 and went on receive her diploma from Vermont College of Cosmetology on June 17, 1969 where she learned one special hair cut that she gave her husband and children for the next 10 years of their lives.
Kathy was a Girl Scout leader, TOPS Treasurer, social advocate for the disabled, homemaker, fashionista, devout Christian, and mom to many. She always lived life to the fullest, and had a fabulous sense of humor – which her children and grandchildren have inherited. Kay always put others before herself; and would literally give the shirt off her back – much to her children’s chagrin.
Kathy’s friends and family were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her, which includes to always stay awake while driving, ask a spouse before buying a horse, that there is such a thing as too much zucchini bread, and that when it comes to having fun – it is better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Kathleen was a dedicated member of TOPS, and would be delighted to know that she now has the smoking hot body she always wanted – having been cremated.
The many outrageous stories that Kay leaves behind could make for a great Lifetime movie. Her children always said that if they were not laughing, they would be crying; but Kay always gave them more reasons to laugh than to cry.
She leaves behind her daughters Nancy (Clough) Emerton and son-in-law Todd Emerton, Allison (Clough) Goodwin and son-in-law Jay W. Goodwin, Jr.; grandson Christopher A. Goodwin; granddaughter Serena M. Goodwin; former husband Richard A. Clough; sisters Rosemary Patterson, Martha Poney, Christine Allard, Karen Kenyon, and Lenora Collins; and nieces Jennifer (Allard) Zilinski, Holly Patterson, Cindy (Patterson) Tillotson, Maryann Lesuer, Faith Poney, Rose Poney, and Christine Collins. . She is predeceased by her parents, brothers (Patrick and Daniel Collins), and nephew (David Lesuer).
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N Main St, Concord, New Hampshire 03301, followed by a time of remembrance at 12:00 PM.
