Karin Johnson, 47, passed in her sleep on July 24 in Nashua, NH at the home of the Aherrera family, Deb, Dan, Makaela, and Beka, where she had been living for the last three years. She was fortunate to be part of this loving family during this time in her life.
Karin was born on September 7, 1968 in Concord where she lived with her family and later graduated from the special education program at Concord High School in 1989. Following graduation she lived at home and later at her own home, working at Pizza Hut and the Shaker Road School and volunteering in various agencies in the area. She was a participant in Special Olympics and enjoyed swimming, riding her bike, and bowling. Karin spent many happy, engaged hours with Lite Brite, stickers, puzzles, and crafts. Sadly, in her later years she lost the ability to enjoy these activities, but she will always be remembered by the many people who loved her for her indomitable spirit. Karin was blessed with a host of loving and compassionate people in her life.
Karin always remembered and was sustained by the memory of her loving brother, Kevin, who died in 1991.
She leaves behind her mother, Irene Johnson; her father David Johnson and his friend Judy Bryant; two loving step-sisters and their families; many compassionate and connected aunts, uncles, cousins, and true friends.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St Concord.
