Frederick Edward Bradstreet III died at home on March 12 surrounded by his loving family. Known to his friends and family as Ted, he grew up in Ashland MA. After graduating from Ashland High School in 1957, he attended the United States Air Force Academy. He was the class of 1961. His Air Force career included pilot training at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas; Pope AFB to fly C123; service in Vietnam flying C123 during 1962; T-38 Pilot Training Instructor in Texas. After 8 years of service in the USAF he was a pilot with American Airlines for 32 years.
During retirement he was the Captain of the NH State Color Guard for many years and served for 2 years as the Commander of the VFW 4th District of NH. He took great pride in leading the VFW’s annual Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy competitions for the Hopkinton Middle and High School. He enjoyed being the HYSA Soccer Coach of the “The Gravediggers” for several years.
He is predeceased by his father, Franklin Hosea Bradstreet; his mother, Katheryn Carragher Bradstreet; and his brother, Bernard Francis Bradstreet. Survivors include Ted’s brother, Franklin Peter Bradstreet and his sister, Katheryn B Davis; his indefatigable wife, Jane D.W. Bradstreet, and their children, Matthew D Bradstreet, Frederick E. Bradstreet IV, and Cora J.B. Stackpole. Ted and Jane have six grandchildren--Thomas D. Bradstreet, Lucas S. Bradstreet, Brielle A. Bradstreet, Charlotte G. Bradstreet, Soleil S. Stackpole, and Luna Jane Stackpole.
Funeral Services: Friday March 22 at 11:00am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 158 Old West Hopkinton Rd, Henniker, NH.
Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D.W. Boscawen, NH 03303.
