Erik S. Wheeler of Hopkinton, NH passed away Sunday June 6, 2021 while on a bicycle ride; one of his life’s passions. Erik was born on June 13, 1965 in Concord NH. He worked at UBS as a Senior Vice President of Wealth Management for 20 years, where he helped numerous clients prepare for a successful future. He previously worked at A.G. Edwards and Prudential. His most recent industry recognition was Forbes Best in State Wealth Advisor for 2021.
Erik was married to Chris Anne (Hackl) Wheeler for 31 years and leaves behind two cherished children, Lexi and Paige. Their adventures together included extensive travels, outdoor adventures of every kind; such as cycling, skiing, hiking, gardening, rock climbing and running. They previously owned a hot air balloon. Erik would joke that he had the biggest toy in the neighborhood.
Erik graduated from the Concord school system where he played baseball, ran track and loved the game of soccer. He was a graduate of Southern NH University with a degree in Economics/Finance, and continued to be active helping their students lead a path to success.
Beyond his wife and children, Erik is survived by father Stanley Wheeler and wife Shelley, mother Dianna L. Powers, brother Darrell and wife Janet Rosado and their children Amber and Dylan, brother Isaac and wife Sarah, stepbrother Chris Garos and wife Katie and their children Charlie and Alex, step-siblings Catherine Willey and husband Tim, Michael Powers and Sheri, sister-in-law Jeanne Dorsett and husband Tony, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandparents Kenneth Martin, Permelia Still, Albert and Elizabeth Wheeler, uncle Steve Wheeler, and stepfather Loren Powers.
Erik believed in service to others and mentorship, and was always helping others strive for greatness. He served on numerous Boards over the years including NEHSA, Concord YMCA, NHSPCA and was a Trustee of the Nature Conservancy at the time of his passing. A celebration of Erik’s lifetime achievements will be held this Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 11 am to 2 pm, with services beginning at 11:30am, at Pleasantview Retirement located at 227 Pleasant Street, Concord. Kindly join us and share spoken memories or written notes. All will be cherished.
