Concord – Elizabeth (Betty) Warren Williams Andrew, 97, died on Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Concord NH, surrounded by loving family. Born in Manchester, NH on July 22, 1924, she was the daughter of Wallace and Marjorie Williams.
Betty grew up in Grafton NH, went to school in Canaan, the University of New Hampshire, and received a Graduate degree in dietary science, spending a year in Boston interning at Beth Israel Hospital. In 1948, she married Neal, and they went on to live in New Boston, Canterbury, Concord, and Chichester. She had a career as a dietitian, serving as the Director of Food Service at Havenwood in Concord NH, from its opening through her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Concord. She and Neal traveled in "the camper" throughout the 49 continental US States and many Canadian Provinces. There was also a trip to England and Wales, looking into her family history. Family was the center of all things throughout her life. Since Neal’s passing in 2011, she has spent her remaining years living at Havenwood Heritage Heights and spending time with her family.
She was a loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There was always time to run up into the woods; she taught us where to find wild blueberries and strawberries, checkerberries, princess pine, pussy willows, and mayflowers. Saturdays meant homemade donuts; holidays always included her amazing cinnamon rolls and pies. She was a voracious reader and had a deep appreciation of beauty both in nature and through the arts. Her vibrant spirit, impetuous and joyful sense of humor, and her contagious giggle will forever warm our hearts.
Survivors include two sons, Wallace Andrew and his wife Carol of Canaan NH, Warren Andrew and his wife Jane of Concord NH; two daughters Serena Levine and her husband Jeffrey of Derry NH, Abbie Andrew and her wife Laurie Sullivan of Grafton NH; twelve grandchildren, Meaghan Wilson, Jonathan Andrew, Benjamin Andrew, Jillian Andrew, Christopher Andrew, Jessica Lyon, Nathan Andrew, Joshua Andrew, Jeffrey Andrew, Kailey Andrew, Rachel Rosenberg, and Eliana Buckley; and eighteen (plus!) great grandchildren.
