Dave continued his secondary education at Dutchess Community College.
Dave was known as a selfless man, who would often help those who were less fortunate than himself. During his career, he was incredibly proud to have worked his way up to store manager in his early 20's where he kept that position for almost 30 years. Dave’s long career started at Sam’s Club, progressed to Home Depot, then back to Sam’s, where his passion, drive, and determination were the noted hallmarks of his leadership.
Dave had an amazing love of cooking, and he would always open his home to entertain and share many home cooked meals with his family, friends, and countless coworkers over the years. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, from gardening, being outdoors, and his love of football. Dave immensely enjoyed rooting for his favorite team, the NY Giants. He was a kind, loving, and generous person, had a quirky dry sense of humor, and enjoyed playing jokes on those he cared about. Dave was greatly respected as a boss and colleague and will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Dave is survived by his cherished and beloved mother, Margaret Mary (O’Neill) Prete, his dear sister Deirdre Prete and her husband Brackie Reyes, all of Manchester, NH. Dave is also survived by his cat Angel, who became even more dear to him after the loss of his cat, Frost.
