Barbara Helen Grigas, 64, of Bow, NH, passed away February 9, 2016. She was born June 22, 1951 at Bon Secours in Methuen, MA. Barbara graduated from Salem High School in 1969. She married Joseph Grigas on June 26, 1982.
Barbara worked as a homemaker raising her family, a housekeeper at a hotel in York Beach, ME when she would spend summers at her parent’s camp. She worked as a probation officer and a crisis worker, a bookkeeper at J&S Hydraulics in Merrimack, NH, and ran the office and helped to build J.W. Fleet and Equipment.
She enjoyed surfing, boating, fishing, hiking, camping, bowling, woodworking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was among the first people to surf at York Beach and was even featured surfing on a postal card.
Barbara has been predeceased by her son Joseph Grigas, her mother Helen Taylor and her father Elmar Taylor.
She is survived by her two sons Sean Grigas of Bow, NH and Ryan Grigas of Concord, NH and her two brothers Douglas Taylor of Danbury, NH and Kenneth Taylor of Winchester, NH.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 16 from 5pm to 8pm at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday February 17 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Concord.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bennett Funeral Home of Concord.
