Concord--Anthony “Tony” Morrill Waterman passed away peacefully at home August 6, 2022 after a period of declining health. Tony was born on February 28, 1941, in Concord, NH, to the late Winifred (Morrill) Waterman and Harold F. Waterman.
Tony graduated from Concord High School in 1959 and was a veteran of the USMC. He was also a former member of the Concord Police Department. In high school, he enjoyed playing football and baseball and continued playing baseball in the Sunset League for several years.
Tony worked for the Hartford Insurance Group as a claims manager before moving back to Concord in 1976 to begin working for the Patsy’s Organization, to whom he gave 38 years of his work life. He was a former senior VP of the Patsy’s Companies as well as part owner and President of Patsy’s Leasing Corporation. Tony was a director and past President of the former Concord Boys Club, as well as a trustee of the NH Auto Dealers Workers Compensation Trust. He was also a member of the Concord Hospital Board of Directors. Tony enjoyed the friends that he made at the Passaconaway Men’s Club as well as all his golfing friends at the Concord Country Club, where he was a member for over 40 years.
Tony is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ethel M. Waterman of Concord, NH, his son Christopher P. Waterman and his wife Allison, of Lyman, SC, his daughter Amy F. Waterman of Concord, NH, and his son Eric J. Waterman and his wife Sarah of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, as well as Grandchildren Maeve, Levi, Cayden and Chase. He also leaves behind his brother Gerald A. Waterman of Concord, NH, and sister Donna S. Waterman of Pembroke, NH, as well as numerous cousins and second cousins, along with his nephews Charles H. Waterman and his wife Michelle of Cape Coral, FL, and James Waterman and his nieces Tammy L. Lui of Contoocook, NH and Patricia Murphy.
The family sincerely thanks Granite VNA Hospice for all their kindness, caring and support. The Hospice Team made our journey with Tony easier to bear.
Visiting hours will be held at Bennett Funeral Home located at 209 No. Main Street, Concord, NH, on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 12 PM – 2 PM.
