William Daugherty Watson, Doctor of Optometry, age 94, died Sunday, May 11, 2014. He was born to the late Wade and Sarah (Daugherty) Watson on December 13, 1919 in Danville, OH. William served in the Army, 65th Brigade during WWII. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University Class of ’47, where he was a member of Epsilon Psi Epsilon fraternity. Bill belonged to the Wooster Masonic Lodge, American Legion, American Optometric Association, and was a member of Powell United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, George Watson. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Spotts); children, Dr. William D. (Linda) Watson, Mark S. (Megan) Watson, and Sarah Watson Cone; grandchildren, Dr. Nicole (Jess) Book, Andrea (Jason) Gable, Ali Watson, Doug Watson, Katy Damschroder, Samuel Cone; great-grandchildren, Clara M. Book and Mason W. Gable; brother, Thomas (Helen) Watson and Roy (Virginia) Watson; extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will begin at 10 am on Friday, May 16, 2014, with family receiving friends from 9 am until the time of service at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085.
