William H. “Bill” Cox, age 92, passed away September 5, 2022 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida after a short illness. Bill was born March 27, 1930, in Marion, Ohio, of parents William and Helen Cox. He graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1948, and later Ohio State University in 1953 where he was a member of Alpha Pi Mu the Industrial Engineering Honorary Fraternity.
Bill worked at Jeffery Manufacturing Corporation and Rockwell International Corporation, retiring from the latter after twenty-seven years of service. Bill was married to the former Eileen Eckert of Columbus, Ohio and they lived in the Columbus area for most of their lives except for a marvelous, short period in Southern California. He also served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956, most of the time in West Germany.
Bill was a Registered Professional Engineer, State of Ohio, and a member of other professional organizations; also, the Upper Arlington Senior Association, the Mid-Ohio Dressage Association, and was an active horseman, tennis player and runner for several years and enjoyed ballroom dancing in his later years. Bill traveled widely having visited all fifty states during his lifetime and revised Central and Eastern Europe in later years. He wrote several journals of his travels which his family enjoys reading and some portions were read aloud on radio.
His parents and wife are deceased, but he is survived by his daughter Julie LaBruna (husband Carl), two granddaughters Alissa Chapin (husband Myles), Madison Pilato (husband Sal) and five great grandchildren Scarlett (age 8), Chloe (age 6), Luca (age 3), Perri (age 9 mo), Myles (age 6 mo) and nephew Randy Jones, all living in Central Ohio and South Florida.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 16, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Interment at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
