William Thomas Conley, Sr., age 89, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012. He was born on June 24, 1922, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, to the late John “Jack” and Olive (Blankenship) Conley. After graduating from Lucasville High School in 1940, he served our country in the US Army, and then worked for Conrail, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #761, Eastern Star, Grotto, Scottish Rite, Moose Lodge #1245, Eagles #3261, VFW Post #8794, American Legion, Whitehall Senior Citizens, and United Commercial Travelers. Tom loved being outdoors, camping, boating, and fishing. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and Tonk, with his friends at the senior center. Most of all, he loved being surrounded by his family. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Conley; and sister, Edna Lewis. He is survived by his children, William Thomas (Pat) Conley, Jr., Connie (Keith) Ward, and John (Laura) Conley; sister, Beulah Wells of Lucasville, KY; brother, Ray Conley of Cape Coral, FL; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many friends. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
