William Michael Breda, 93, Columbus, OH passed peacefully 7:12 PM Saturday May 21, 2022 at Westerwood of Columbus. He was born December 9, 1928 in Findlay, OH to Fred and Mary (McGrievy) Breda. In 1961, he married Alice Ann Trueblood, 91.
Survivors include: wife Alice (Trueblood) Breda of Columbus, OH; Son Michael Breda and wife Becky Breda of New Bremen, OH; Daughter Nancy Stinnett of Columbus, OH, Son David Breda and wife Beth Breda of Cincinnati, OH; Grandchildren Matthew Breda, Elizabeth Breda, Fr. Jacob Stinnett, Anna Stinnett, and Emmett Breda.
Preceded in death by: Parents Fred and Mary Breda, brother Edward Breda and wife Martha Breda, sister Peggy Breda.
Mr. Breda served his country with honor during the Korean Conflict. After earning an electrical engineering degree from Ohio Northern University, he worked for North American Rockwell continuing to protect our freedoms while developing military aircraft and contributing to the Gemini space program in Columbus, OH. Subsequently, he served Ohioans as an Ohio Department of Transportation Engineer until he retired. All the time, Bill Breda actively participated in the St. Anthony’s Parish of Columbus, OH. Besides being a devout Catholic, Bill enjoyed time with his family and a friendly round of golf.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Church 1300 Urban Drive, in Columbus Ohio. Rev. Jacob Stinnett and Rev. Thomas Petry will officiate the services.
Family will receive visitors one hour before the service at St. Anthony’s Church, Fulcher Room.
