Travis Brian Johnson, 43, of Columbus passed away July 9, 2021. Travis was born in Circleville, OH on November 23, 1977, to his parents Phil Johnson and Susan (Helsel) Hardbarger. Travis attended Amanda High School and vocational school. Travis worked as a Union Electrician Journeyman.
Travis is survived by his 9-year-old son Colton, as well as his parents Susan (Steve) Hardbarger and Phil (Chris) Johnson and his grandmother, Dee Helsel. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles Wanda Sayre, Diane Ulmschneider, Joe Helsel, Jim (Robyn) Helsel, Barb Kelley, Linda (Rick) Roelecke, Sharon (Sid) Liming, Art (Sharon) Johnson, Jr., and Pat Johnson; step-siblings Lissa, Lynsi, Steve (Heather) Hardbarger and Stacey (Dan) Thomas; as well as Colton’s mother Heather Ross. Molly, his canine friend will also greatly miss Travis, as will a large extended group of friends and relatives. Travis held a special place in his heart for his grandma Dee Helsel and his grandpa Art Johnson.
Travis loved working out, off-road biking, dirt bike riding and, of course, he loved Harley-Davidsons. Travis found, fixed, and flipped anything and everything. He had just purchased leather embossing tools and would have surely created some amazing projects. Travis loved to ask for and make “Sammiches” and loved driving all the pretty girls crazy!
Travis had a huge heart and was a trusted, loyal friend to many. Travis was a Super Dad to Colton. He was known to be Unfiltered and to be a Big Goof Ball with Big Feet. Travis was also known for giving the very best Bear Hugs. Both Travis and his Hugs will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Travis’ family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 11am to 2pm at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 151 East Main Street, Circleville, OH where a 2pm Memorial Service will be conducted. Contributions in Travis’ memory can be made to the American Heart Association or to a GoFundMe account which will be established in his name.
