Thomas (Tom) Leroy Warner, 83, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018. He was born in Marion, Ohio on April 5, 1935 to the late Wallace L. Warner and Hazel K. (Stiverson) Warner. He graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1953. He served in the National Air Guard from 1957 until 1960. Tom was an avid camper and enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting. Active in church throughout his life, he also participated in the Vandalia Classics Group where he had many good friends. He volunteered many years as the groundskeeper at Crestview Baptist Church. Tom will be remembered most as a wonderful father and for the loving care he gave to his late wife Joan during her battle with Alzheimer’s. His strong faith in the Lord and his ability to witness to others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife Joan of 27 years. Left to mourn his passing are his children Amy Bates, Jeff Warner, and Beth (Darren) Puckett; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; his sister Jean Furer; his brother Gary (Joan) Warner; seven nephews as well as various great nieces and nephews. Tom’s memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Crestview Baptist Church in Clayton, Ohio.
