

Tim was born in Mingo Junction Ohio on September 25, 1942, where he attended High School at Mingo Junction High School graduating in 1960. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington & Jefferson College and then received his law degree from The Ohio State University.
As an attorney, he was a dedicated advocate for his clients serving as an attorney and managing partner at Ward, Kaps, Bainbridge, Maurer & Melvin from 1968 until 2009. He later served as a partner at The Bainbridge Firm from 2009 until 2013.
Tim lived a life of service helping Ohio’s injured workers. He served as Chairman of various committees within both the Columbus Bar Association, and the Ohio Association of Justice. Tim also served as President of the Association for Justice in 1994.
Later he served as Commissioner for the BWC Oversight Commission 1996-2007, then appointed by John Kasich as the Commissioner of the Ohio Industrial Commission 2011-2019. Tim also spent time as a lobbyist for injured worker’s rights and served many years on the Franklin County Republican Executive Committee.
Tim was also a loving and attentive father, being a model of work life balance. He served many years coaching his kid’s various sports teams and serving as a volunteer with the Charity Newsies.
He was a huge OSU fan, avid reader, and social butterfly. Devoted to his Christian faith, he always saw the best in others and dedicated his life to service.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bainbridge and Arbrie Bainbridge and his wife, Deidre Bainbridge. Left to cherish his memory by his fiancé’, Pam Murphy, his children Tom, Andrew (Katy), and Brian (Nikki), and his grandchildren Emma, Todd, Bowen, Bryson, and Quin, Sister, Suzanne (Richard) Scotti, Brothers-in-Law Bill Andrews, Barry Andrews, and Tim Andrews.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus on Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. followed by a reception at the Athletic Club of Columbus, 4:00-6:00 p.m. Valet parking will commence at 2:15 pm at the ACC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Ohio Alzheimer Association.
